Finally after months of work and weeks of late nights the Visualisations for the Waves EP are complete! These videos finish off the Waves EP mini-project that has kept me busy over the past couple of months. The EP was released in May and has proven popular with bloggers and listeners alike around the globe. When I sent out that EP I made sure to remind them that more was on the way, including a selection of Videos to accompany the music. And here they are.
I would make it clear that, just like everything I do with In The Black Box, these videos and the music they accompany represent just another step in the process. It is clear that they are not “perfect” but the idea was not to create the illusion of perfection but to try and get better at what I do along the way. Even from the time I started working on “Coil” months and months ago, to when I finally finished “Eck-Ohs” last night I could feel that I had managed to find solutions to problems and gotten just that little bit better. It’s all really a journey of discovery.
These videos and this music reflects one aspect of the last 12 months. For every video or song I release here there is usually 10 times that amount on the workbench at any one time… much of it will never get released in it’s current format, some never at all. However they all add up in the end to create some part of In The Black Box.
When I started this project my main aim was to synthesise my aural and visual expressions in one place. I feel that this collection of videos represents a huge step towards achieving that goal.. and with that it is time to move on to the next project and take another step in the right direction.
