If you were to Google “Black Vinyl Records” you would be hard pushed to find anything relavent to the record company being written about here….

In the brief amount of time that I have spent looking for information on this small UK independant record company the best i could find were these few short sentences on Discogs.com …
Black Vinyl Records is an independent underground house music label based in London, UK. Formed as the ‘trax’ imprint of Hott Records in 1996, Black Vinyl became an independent company in 1997 and has been releasing quality dance music ever since. Releases so far include cuts from Miguel Migs, Kerri Chandler, Tedd Patterson, Brent Laurence, Dj Spen, Paulo Rocha, Rasmus Faber and DJ Pope amongst many others. Check out the website for further info on all the single and album releases, hear full length Real Audio feeds and buy on-line at www.blackvinyl.co.uk

In fact the website referred to here doesn’t seem to even exist anymore and the last releases credited to this company were in 2007.. does it even exist anymore? (If you know do enlighten me!)

Perhaps the series of compilation albums released by the company documenting some of the best records released on the label were the swan song for Black Vinyl.. “Many Shades”, “More Shades”, “Deep Shades” etc feature some great house tunes from Artists both known and unknown that are sure to get your head digging deep into the groove. The House is funky and soulful, with a real Detroit and Chicago roots feel…

…Check it for yourself.. be sure to check out Black Box No.41 (Live on http://www.dirtyradio.org/listen on Sunday June 13th at 7pm GMT – Podcast on the 14th) for an hour long mix!!
